Introduction
Established in 1957, the Radiology Department of the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University (FAHCQMU) is founded by Professor Jingwu Qi & Kesui Zhang, etc from Shanghai Huashan Hospital & Zhongshan Hospital of former Shanghai First Medical College (now Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University). After 60 years’ & several generations’ struggle & development, the Radiology Department of FAHCQMU has become a department with reasonable staff allocation, advanced equipment, standardized management, strong technical force, first-class diagnosis & treatment service capabilities, outstanding professional characteristics, and wide influence range, integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research and is the largest & strongest radiology department in Chongqing and the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It has been ranked Second in the Southwest Radiology Reputation List of Fudan University for four consecutive years.

Our Staff
The Radiology Department currently has 180 staff members, including 2 deputy deans, 53 doctors, 1 science researcher PhD, 76 technicians, 2 engineers, 32 nurses and 14 auxiliary persons. Among the doctors, there are 8 with senior professional title, 12 with deputy senior professional title, 13 with intermediate professional title and 20 with junior professional title; 19 technicians have intermediate grade or above professional title. There are 22 doctor degree owners and 42 master degree owners in the general department, where 39% of the doctor group have a doctor degree, and 30% of technician group have a master's degree or above. The department currently has 4 doctoral supervisors and 11 master supervisors. Among the doctors & technicians, there are 15 academic posts in national societies and associations, 2 Chongqing academic and technical leaders, 18 academic posts in Chongqing societies and associations, and 5% of overseas students. While the staff number of the department continues to grow, the staff level is also constantly improved and the structure is more reasonable.
Our Management Model and Equipment
The radiology department is based on the "1+4" model, which means the hospital headquarter + the first branch, the Jinshan branch, the Qinggang elderly care center and the radiological remote consultation center. The radiology department branches of the whole hospital are managed and supported by the radiology department of the hospital headquarter. And in Jinshan Branch, the department has a variety of advanced inspection equipments, including 1 Philips IQon CT , 1 3.0T MR, 1 Siemens 128-slice CT, 1 Philips 16-row CT, one GE 1.5T MR, 1 DR, 1 multi-functional digital gastrointestinal X-ray machine and 1 DSA. The department has established a complete PACS, RIS and remote consultation system which implement the network connected in the whole hospital and can support remote diagnosis and consultation network in the whole Chongqing City, and built a complete hospital imaging and information platform. In 2018, the Southwest Radiology Specialist Alliance led by the department was formally established, and there are 152 units from Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Chongqing and Tibet joining the alliance in total, which marks that the department's discipline construction has taken a step forward.
Our Research Ability
The scientific research ability of the Radiology Department has developed steadily. Since 2012, the department has taken 10 National Natural Science Fund Projects and published a total of 69 SCI papers. Besides, in recent 5 years the department has undertaken 33 other government sponsored scientific research projects at various levels, won 3 provincial, ministerial and bureau level achievement awards and 14 national patents, participated in the compilation of 32 academic monographs and textbooks, and published SCI & Chinese Core Journal papers 40-50 steadily.
Our Imaging Service Items
1. 24 hours and 7 days, emergency X-ray examination and bedside emergency X-ray examination, CT emergency examination (plain scan + enhancement scan, stroke CTA and CTP one-stop scan) and MRI emergency examination.
2. Ordinary X-ray imaging on all parts of the body, breast X-ray imaging, oral imaging and a kinds of general angiography (gastrointestinal angiography, T angiography, ERCP radiography, intravenous pyenography, etc.) examinations.
3. CT plain scan and enhancement scan on all parts of the body, CT, CTA, CTU, C T coronary imaging, energy spectrum imaging and various image post-processing work.
4. MRI plain scan & enhancement scan, MRA, MRN, MRS, SWI, MR water imaging (MRCP, urinary tract imaging, MR inner ear imaging, MR salivary gland imaging), and various MR functional imaging.
5. DSA imaging examination technology (DSA coronary imaging, whole cerebrovascular imaging, peripheral vascular imaging), radiovascular and non-vascular interventional diagnosis and treatment.
6. Clinical consultation on medical imaging for inner-hospital and medical imaging examination consultation for external hospitals.
7. Standardized MRI examination and follow-up of central demyelinating diseases (multiple sclerosis and optic neuromyelitis spectrum diseases).
8. One-stop inspection of stroke green channel.
